POMBA Volunteer Training with Gerard Murphy (Try Barefoot Consulting http://trybarefoot.ca/ )

Sunday November 29 from 9:30am- 3:30pm, Dartmouth

This training is open to any current POMBA members who hold a volunteer position or volunteer at events or initiatives.

Why is the training important?

Volunteer training was identified as need through previous volunteer surveys. We’ve all been there. We’ve seen a comment on Facebook, overheard something at an event or in public and aren’t sure how to respond. The training will help POMBA members step into their volunteer roles and enhance skills in communication and work on how to be giving and receiving feedback.  It will help with getting the key messages out and during POMBA events. A volunteer led organization doesn’t run well without volunteers; covering volunteer recruitment successes and strategies is the third component of the day. Throughout the day, we will be learning skills to apply the training to in person and online settings.  And, this is a great addition to your resume and skill building for other areas of your world.    Funding for this session is provided by a grant received from Thrive! A plan for a healthier Nova Scotia

This training is open to POMBA members only. No charge for participation.  Lunch and snacks provided, registration required. Subsidies are available to support childcare and transportation costs.
