You don’t have to go it alone!
Getting to know POMBA members in person and online (through our Facebook groups) is a great way to receive and share support. POMBA offers volunteer-based peer support through regular Expectant Parents Night for new parents of multiples and general support. Plus you can access information and resources on our website.
Check out the following support resources that POMBA offers to our members:
Breast Pump Rental Program
POMBA has Medela Symphony double, multi-user, hospital-grade breast pumps available for rental. The pump rents for $50 per month with a $150 refundable deposit, plus a free collection kit which is yours to keep.
When renting the breast pump, each user will need their own above mentioned sanitary collection kit (breast pump attachments) which contains the tubing and breast shields. Each kit also has a protective membrane component that allows the pump to provide suction without breast milk ever interacting with the mechanisms. POMBA will provide you with a free kit (as long as supply lasts).
Rental/hospital grade pumps are expensive to buy and therefore are more economical to rent. The same pump rents elsewhere for $75/month, plus $45 for the collection kit. We are pleased that now POMBA can offer these savings to its members. We will keep adding more pumps to the program as funds become available. Funds received from rentals will go to the upkeep of existing pumps and towards the purchase of more pumps.
If you are interested in renting a breast pump or have any questions, please email: email@example.com
The Medela Symphony Breast Pump is very comfortable and efficient and is the only Medela breast pump recommended for premature babies or low milk supply.
Features and Benefits:
- 2-Phase Expression Pumping
- Long term daily use
- Electric or battery
- Double or single pump
Chosen for you and your baby: all parts that come into contact with breast milk are BPA/DEHP free!
Nursing Pillow Rental Program
If you are interested in nursing multiples, a proper twin nursing pillow is considered a must-have. These pillows are expensive – about $150 each – and not readily available for purchase locally. To support nursing mothers, POMBA has high-quality twin nursing pillows available. All of our pillows are available free of charge.
When learning to breastfeed, there are lots of hurdles to get over. Having multiples doesn’t mean it has to be any harder and having a good nursing pillow is very helpful in the first few months, especially for first-time moms. In providing this support program for our members, POMBA is by no means expressing an opinion on your choice to breast or bottle-feed your babies. We are only trying to assist the new mothers who decide to breastfeed in reaching their goals. We are also available to support those who choose to bottle feed or decide not to breastfeed. Breastfeeding is a very personal decision and it is important that parents make the best choices for their individual situation.
If you are interested in renting a nursing pillow or being placed on a waiting list, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
POMBA helps member families needing support with clothing and equipment as part of our clothing and equipment sales (held in the fall and spring each year). To learn more, contact email@example.com
We need you!
Do you remember what it was like in those early days when you first had your little darlings? Oh, the joy… oh, the sleepless nights… oh, the uncertainty. Wouldn’t it have been nice to have had someone to contact and bounce things off of and talk to someone who has “been there?” Well, become a volunteer and be that person for a new mom!
We look forward to hearing from you! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to join us as a volunteer.
